Odd jobs: replace kitchen splashback, temporarily remove door frame

I recently purchased my first home and am hoping to undertake a few renovations but am on a budget. I would like to have the kitchen splashback lino/laminate material stripped and replaced with a square of white/cream-backed glass. I also need assistance with temporarily removing the door connecting the living room to hallway so that a flooring company can access that part of the floor (the door will need to be put back up at a later date)
