Ceiling repair - Gib, plaster, sand, paint

Hi there. My husband was running cabling in the attic this weekend and unfortunately missed his step and fell through. He is fine, but our ceiling is not! Will need to be cut to about 1m x 1m square to be replaced with some new gib. We can paint it ourselves if it helps save some cost. We work from home, so very flexible on timing.
