This is a small job to build us a clothes drying rack, and mount it under a second-story deck, with pulleys to lower it up and down. The clothes rack would be made from a rectangular wood or aluminium frame, and a sturdy clothesline wire strung lengthways. In terms of the size, I’m more interested in length than width, as ideally it would be long enough to fit our super king sheets on it ie. the line would be 265cm long. I suppose we could fold the sheets over if that was not practical. It would need to be light enough to easily pull up and down (with a load of washing on it), but strong enough to withstand the wind. We are in an extreme wind area, and so it would be good to stop it from banging against the bottom of the deck in the wind with some rubber stoppers etc. We are after a builder/home handyman to: 1. Design and build the clothes rack 2. Install it under our deck We would like the new clothes rack to be in place by the end of April. There is pretty good access to the underside of the deck – but you would need a good ladder. Thanks Jo Preston and Jimmy Blakely, Karori, Wellington PS. By the way, we have a number of small jobs for around the house eg. attic stairs, building a standalone deck, hanging clothesline etc, that we have also put up separately. Look for jobs with Preston in the title.
