Planing/Trimming Doors for Floor Install

We are getting hardwood floors installed in the entire house from 6 January - 16 January. We are installing in 2 batches - bottom half of the house and top half. We have 20 wooden doors in total that will need to be planed. Installer reckons the planning needs to be done along side install so the measurements are exact. We also want to give the doors a fresh lick of paint but if it costs too much we can just do that ourselves.
