Dryer Venting and Wall Mounting

We have a new dryer being delivered that we want to wall-mount above the washing machine in a small exterior room, and we want to cut through the exterior wall behind it to fit the vent for the dryer directly. The interior of the room seems to be mostly just the back of the weatherboards, so think we need to put a stronger piece of wood between the corner studs.
