Kitchen shelves

I have recycled rimu that needs plane sanding to remove wallpaper, and then to hang shelves in my kitchen with brackets I have bought. They need to be strong enough to hold plates and heavy kitchen items. I think the wall might be a firewall as it is an adjoining townhouse but I'm not sure.
