I bought a lovely old villa as an "As is" property a year ago. The house has been rented since then, and no repairs have been done yet since the original series of earthquakes. The Valentines Day 2016 earthquake has shifted the house further off it's foundations and I'm told by my building inspector that the it is now unsafe to rent out, as the existing foundations have toppled and broken. I'm looking for someone to jack up the house and put temporary piles/support foundations in where needed to make the house is safe to rent out until I decide whether to repair it where it is, or get it taken to a new section. I'm not too worried about making the house level - I just want to know that it's unlikely to fall off it's foundations in another quake. Cost is a factor, but so is time-frame as I can't (with clear conscience) put tenants in the house as it is.
