Job description

Timber Fencing & Gates
Hamilton

Published: 13 March 2017

Timber gates across driveway. One on left, one on right, open inwards. Wooden post that gates are hinged to, are old and wobbly. Timer gates lean into the middle, jamming and making closing difficult. Metal gate latch that holds both gates together at the top is broken/missing. Metal spike/bolt that is attached to the bottom of one gate halves, is designed to be pushed into a hole BUT we only have a hole in the grass with a hollow metal rod in the ground. This moves freely, providing little security or stability to a closed gate. Would like a new latch on both gate halves and a concrete hole for each of the latches to be pushed in to, once gate is closed. Gate posts. One is stand alone next to the concrete block fence and has been secured to the concrete fence but has movement. The other post is attached to a separate part of the main front fence, the fence portion being 68cm x 1.87mtrs, separated from the full fence by a pathway gate. The post holding the gate half has skewed/rotated about 90deg due to the weight of the gate. This in itself does not worry me but may be an issue when trying to fix the gates. Maybe that portion of the fence would have to be replaced. Perhaps the gates need to be replaced altogether - they are also warped. Am open to any suggestions on how to sort the gate issue. Ideally to be fixed by mid June.

Ryan has done really great job. Communication was great, he understood what I was wanting. Ryan chose great gates, installed them really well, took note of the small extras I was after. Nothing was too much trouble. Would not hesitate to recommend Ryan. One very happy customer!
