Job description

Steel Frames & Trusses
Auckland

Published: 21 June 2016

Hi Looking for feasibility \ quote on this project. (phots diagrams are attached) Intention is to build a pergola\screen along the lines illustrated below. This is a very rough diagram showing approx. shape, size and position – can be adapted to whatever is practicable. Actual site pictured – upright wooden planks to indicate intended location of structure. This is a second-story deck. Recently reclad with a new vinyl membrane. Deck falls to edge. Ballustrade installed with “gutter brackets” – gutter yet to be fitted. Intention is to build a pergola\screen over the area indicated. If steel is used this would be for the basic framework galvanized square or rectangular approx. 50mm-80mm. Roof would be sheet acrylic (nuralite) using proprietary fixing to steel framework – though could discuss other options. Wide side (parallel to house) either all glass or aluminium slat screen up to about 700mm then glass. For the shorter sides one side is open for access to the rest of the deck. Other side suggest again aluminium slat. Would need fixing brackets for this but otherwise not part of the steel job. Outside edge to be supported by four brackets (same as for balustrade - these are already installed ) Deck falls to edge and gutter will be fitted under gutter brackets as for rest of the deck to drain any water entering from sides. Components required if steel is used: (dimensions indicative only) Main roof component – steel square or rectangle – approx. 50-70mm 2m x 3m rectangle approx (see diagram) 4 x "L" shaped wall brackets – fixed to wall at one end and roof frame at the other. 4x posts – bracket to roof frame top end, bolted to gutter brackets bottom end. Dimensions (approx.) Width of deck (house to outside edge) 2.2m Height – (deck surface to bottom of eave) 2.09 m Eave (width from house) 400mm Eave (top to bottom) 200mm Length of structure – (outside edge) 3.1m see attached illustrations
