Power outlet not working

Looking to get a power socket in the ceiling area which isn't currently working looked at so I can plug a bathroom extractor fan into it. There is access through a hole in the bathroom ceiling and also in the roof area. Unsure why the outlet isn't working it has had an extractor fan plugged into it in the past.
