Small-scale repair to concrete facade on front of house

We have a concrete facade around the base of our house, and there is a section by the front door that is damaged and needs repairing. We are having our house painted from 24 January, and need to have this job completed before that date. I expect that someone would need to come and inspect the job before signing on, as we are not sure exactly what it entails, but we think it would be removing the damaged concrete and then filling in the gap with new concrete or mortar.
