Concrete Cutting/Removal

We have an old open fire that we need to cut approx 55mm off each side so we can fit a gas fireplace into the opening ... Also have a solid concrete block under kitchen sink (may be old drain or fireplace footing) that we'd like removed so we can install new kitchen units. Cheers
