Having a garage built and due to slope of section one end has been dug down in to the section with a 1M gap around the end between the ground and the garage. Garage is due to be completed in early July, currently at slab level. Now looking to build a retaining wall to hold the soil back from around the garage (not part of the garage project). The main retaining wall will be 8M long by approx. 1M with two flanking walls that will need to reduce in height from approx 1M. down to ground level. May also consider an option to build in some steps to allow for access from garage level up to garden level. Also, want to look at a path around that end of the garage, either cement or slabs. Preference for retaining wall is concrete block (have looked at wooden options and decided against them) possibly with a lave rock finish. Will require drainage behind and through retaining wall to prevent build-up of ground water. Open to suggestions on design and finished appearance of wall.
