Pergola in Milldale

Would like a pergola to be built. Not too sure if it should be attached to the house or freestanding next to it. Would like some guidance about the best approach. The purpose of the pergola is just to offer some shade and somewhere to train plants. The pergola is to cover the entire area from the spa to the decking to the fence. I will provide all materials as I work for Placemakers. But would need guidance on knowing exactly what to buy. First two pics are of the area where I would like the pergola. The rest is to give an indication of what I'm after.
