Fix or replace wide gaps in balustrade

Our homes internal stairs have balustrades with dangerously wide gaps that kids can easily climb or fall through. 190-235mm gaps. We'd like to hear different options to either add additional posts to halve the gaps or replace the balustrade altogether. The stairs are two flights going up one level as in photos. There are two rails to be solved for. We'd like someone to have a look and give us a recommended solution and quote for now. We plan this work to be done in the next few months. We're in Stanmore Bay area 10 minutes from Silverdale.
