Greenhouse bench

I want to lower a 2 mtre x 700mm section of a bench in a green house to accomodate a propagation hot bed. Shortening and reattachment with bolts of 6 legs is involved. Age and an artificial knee make the task rather difficult for me. All materials are on site. Tools required - skillsaw, handsaw, powerdrill and spanners. The job is not complicated but I do not want a cowboy. Something will be wrong if it takes more than half a day
