Creaky floors

Some of our floors are very creaky / uneven (particularly in the hallway). We are hoping someone can get underneath to have a look and add some shims or supports to level things out and reduce the creaking The floors would need to be accessed from under the house as the floors are carpeted The house was built in roughly 1984
