Small (but high) repair job to outside of house

I have a corner piece missing where weatherboards meet (sorry, really hard to explain), a strip of about a metre and a half. Plus, in the same area, there appears to be a piece of weatherboard missing from under a small window. The job is a third story up from the ground, so it's a high one!
