Deck transformation

Looking to replace an old wooden deck with one of the following: 1) Complete wooden replacement, or 2) Paved surface The deck at present is about a foot above the ground, assuming, therefore that option 2 would require filling in and leveling. The area has an angled section where part of the house juts out. Also, there is a raised area which we are planning on just removing (see photo).
