Wood work on windows and large doors

We have wood windows and quite a few have rot and need repair before painting. Some on upper level (scaffolding of painter can be used). We also have 4 large wooden sliding doors that need to be painted. To do so, the doors need to come off the rails, the rails removed and the base sanded down a bit, before they are put back on. The sanding necessary as the house has shifted and the doors swell in wet weather and no longer slide open properly in this weather. The photos show the doors and the railings they sit on.
