Put a new nog in to stop floor boards squeaking

Job description

Floor Board Repair
Auckland

Published: 14 February 2017

There is a squeak in one spot in the lounge floor of our rental property in Pt Chev. It is caused by a missing nog. We are looking for someone to do the following small job: - Pull up carpet where squeak is - Remove wood screws that we have put into the floor boards, where the squeak is (we did this in an effort to fix the squeak, when we didn't know there was a missing nog) - Put in a single nog where it is missing, under the squeak (the nog will remain permanently) - Screw the floor boards into the new nog, where the squeak is (ensuring the squeak disappears) - Put the carpet back on (note, we are looking for someone to put the carpet back on with care, however we don't need a carpeting specialist as the carpet is not perfectly laid currently) I note that it will probably be necessary to go under the house to put the new nog in. In the area where the new nog needs to be added there is probably about 50 cm between the ground and the floor (so not a huge amount of space to work in)
