I am in the process of renovating a small deck on a 1998 house in Onehunga. Part of the deck is built over living space. Original deck had a ballustrade system which pierced the membrane at the edge. On removing the ballustrade discovered timber rot in the beam\frame below . Needs remedial work to frame and replacing some ply. Will need to be tarped up once work is started. Am working with a waterproofing specialist who will be laying the membrane when complete. He estimated 2-3 days work for the remedial work. They can do it, but would prefer to stick to the membrane work. Ideally start next week once the weather clears. Suggest labour only. Can pay immediately on completion and cover materials as required.
