We have 2 fireplaces in ground floor of a 1930's bungalow. One of the fireplaces has an existing old wood burner stove which we will be removing. We have fully removed the old hearths down to the open box framing already. On fireplace 1, (and after removal of the wood burner), we want the existing fireplace gibbed over and insulated and rimu floor boards to be inserted over the existing hearth space (rimu boards to be sourced by us). The second fireplace is currently open (ie no woodburner) and we want this also to be gibbed over and rimu flooring laid over the existing open hearth space. New skirts to be matched (although we have the old fireplace surround which may be salvaged to use as skirts).
