We are planning to convert our garage into a self-contained habitable unit (with a kitchen and a bathroom). We have been to the council office and they advised us that work won't need a resource consent and only a building consent will be required. Details are as follows: Address: 31 Pilmuir Street, Lower Hutt, 5010 Area: Garage (40 square meters) + Storage Room (8 square meters) Please find attached some photographs for your reference.
