Remove Chimneys

Job description

General Building
Christchurch

Published: 19 January 2010

I have two chimneys requiring removal. Both are solid brick and currently protrude through the roof of a single storey building, one on each side of the roof apex (so there are two holes in the roof to fix!) One has an old log burner within it. The job is to: 1. Create plans and arrange appropriate permission with Christchurch City Council. 2. Remove chimneys to ceiling level, making good the roof. 3. Remove chimneys to floor level. 4. Frame and plasterboard flush with existing walls. and ceiling. Silencer Batts in space. 5. Remove waste from site. Notes: Roof is corrugated iron, grey paint colour. Single storey dwelling circa 1910. chimneys approx 1.75m wide. One is 1.5m deep, the other slightly smaller. lath and plaster walls and ceiling. Top of chimneys approx 8m above surrounding area. Ceiling height aprox 3.5m. Large flat section with easy access. I am able to do Gib stopping and would not require this to be done though you are welcome to quote separately. Given the uneven walls, it will probably require several coats to ensure a flush and smooth finish.
