Advice regarding low water pressure in showers

Hi all, we have recently moved into a house that had terrible water pressure in the showers. The hot water cylinder is a low pressure one and there is a header tank in the ceiling. On the HWC it mentions the maximum working head is 7.6 metres. There is a pipe just extending out of the roof. The bathrooms have been recently renovated and we think the incorrect mixers and shower slides have been installed for this type of pressure.
