Shower pipe leak and dripping toilet pipe

There is a serious dripping leak iin the shower pipe behind the wall. My friend a former plumber has looked. He said part of the shower wall will need to be cut to reach the pipe which is below the shower mixer. The other job is an irritating drip in the toilet.
