SACRED HEART OLD LIBRARY
Essen Engineering undertook detailed seismic assessment, strengthening and construction supervision for the Sacred Heart old library while incorporating the new architectural layout. The structured was made of Steel/ concrete hybrid frame with steel and light timber wall bracing. Strengthening was undertaken to 60%NBS with upgrading works encompassing strengthening of frames/ cross braces and increasing capacity of the diaphragms using Fiber Reinforced Polymer wrap.
HOLLAND CRESCENT
A hybrid steel frame and masonry shear wall building originally built around the 1940’s. Essen Engineering carried out a detailed seismic assessment and strengthening of the building to minimum 80% NBS. Strengthening exercise encompassed introducing X-braced frames and upgrading the roof diaphragm & foundations.
