Project description

This two-storey home in Redwood, Christchurch had two Panasonic high-wall heat pumps that were more than 20 years old, with one no longer working.

Heat Pump Upgrade Co replaced them with a Mitsubishi Electric PEAD-M140JAA ducted heat pump system, providing 16 kW of heating capacity and whole-home heating and cooling.

The design considered individual room requirements, airflow, duct sizing and outlet placement to suit the existing home. Discreet ceiling outlets and a central Mitsubishi Electric wired controller complete the installation.

This project shows how replacing ageing heat pumps can be an opportunity to upgrade comfort throughout the home.
