Project

Modernizing a 1960's Kitchen/Laundry (Still in progress)

Project description

Our amazing clients have been in their house for 5 years. They have no intention of leaving, and have spent the past few years coming up with ideas for how they wanted their space to look and flow. After a few on site meetings, we came up with a plan that allowed them to stay in the house whilst we in this renovating process.

We opened up the internal load bearing wall, lifted the structural components up, into the ceiling space to allow for a clean, modern transition between the kitchen and living.

All linings in the kitchen and laundry were removed to allow for straightening for the new kitchen joinery, and adding/moving for services.

We installed two skylights in the kitchen. With the removal of the old door, and new open space, these can be seen from anywhere in the space, and are a real focal point.

Currently the space is in the process of being painted, ahead of the next step: Sanding of the rimu floor.
