As a Licensed Building Practitioner (Carpenter), I was involved in the seismic strengthening and heritage restoration project at Turnbull House. My role focused on the safe installation of temporary structural support systems during the alteration of the main stair area.

Key Responsibilities:
• Installed engineered steel propping systems and timber bracing to support existing load-bearing walls and stair structures.
• Constructed LVL/timber frames to specification using site drawings and staged construction plans prepared by Dunning Thornton Consultants.
• Worked alongside engineers, supervisors, and the Naylor Love team to coordinate tasks, ensure safety compliance, and maintain critical project timelines.
• Managed temporary lighting and power cable organisation in a live, partially demolished site environment, adhering to safety best practices.

This work was part of a high-standard commercial heritage project led by Naylor Love, one of New Zealand’s top main contractors with expertise in complex, large-scale, and historically significant builds.
