Project description

In November 2023, we completed a project over the course of three days. Our client needed to urgently sell their house and requested the removal of an old, unused spa and its replacement with a continuous deck.
Due to the spa’s size, we couldn’t remove it in one piece, so we dismantled it piece by piece and disposed of it. Once the spa was removed, we installed four posts, each set 600mm deep into the ground. The following day, we installed bearers and joists (including replacing all the rotten timbers) in accordance with NZS 3604.
We then laid the new decking on top of the joists. To meet the client’s preference for efficiency, the new deck was aligned in a continuous line, rather than a staggered pattern. The client was very pleased with the results and the swift completion of the job.
