Sitting in the hills of Wellington, this 1930s bungalow was given new life. The Tim Lucas Construction team worked with Vorstermans Architects to carry out an extensive high-end renovation which included a complete interior and exterior overhaul.
It was a delight to completely transform this unassuming bungalow into a sleek, modern home. Natural wooden tones featured extensively throughout this renovation, not only on the floors but also the doorframes, cabinetry, shelving, and ensuite vanity. Some of the ceiling was lined with Joubert Gaboon plywood to add interest.
The master bedroom was given a new, fully tiled ensuite with clean, modern fixtures. Maximising the use of space, a wardrobe was converted to an office.
In the main living area, we installed a whole new kitchen, again featuring natural wood for the cabinets and a large kitchen island. At the other end of the room, we added an expansive picture window to make the most of the stunning views over Wellington harbour, with wrap-around shelving for additional storage.
It was exciting to see the transformation of this space unfold and to give new life to this almost-century-old property.
