High Ratio Building is an owner operated building company ran by myself Henry Nicol, as my right hand man I have my best friend Sam who is currently doing his apprenticeship with me through BCITO.
I did most of my apprenticeship and early career as a qualified builder working up around the Port Hills of Christchurch for Offset Developments, specialising in architectural hill builds, but for the last 3 years i have been working for my self and focusing mainly of Renovations.
No job is to big or small for us as I have a large pool of friends that are also in the industry and ready to chip in at any time.
I do prefer charge up work as apposed to quoting as I feel someone always comes out worse with a quote and 9 times out of 10 thats the client. Noone in their right mind would quote a job down to the exact hour and to the last screw so the client always ends up paying more. I am happy to provide quotes but just feel its much fearer and more transparent when the job is based on the actual hours worked.
