We recently engaged Scott from SSP Electrical to upgrade our entire home, and the experience redefined my expectations for how electricians in New Zealand should be. Our project included a full switchboard upgrade, complete lighting upgrade throughout the house, and updating all power points and switches. What distinguished SSP Electrical as the best electricians in Christchurch was their proactive nature. They went beyond the basic scope and discussed future-proofing electrical solutions, which I hadn’t considered. One example was their recommendation for plug-in ceiling light fixtures, rather than the traditional hard-wired ones. The benefit of this is that when a light eventually breaks, this eliminates the call-out and replacement fee. We can simply buy a new one and plug it in ourselves. Making the investment incredibly smart and cost-effective. They are extremely knowledgeable and efficient, but also a genuine advisor. Their focus on preventative electrical maintenance and forward-thinking home electrical design ensures customers are set up correctly from the start. They even checked if we wanted to add wiring and components that would allow for cheaper and easier installation of an EV charger in the future - I never would have considered this. For any homeowner in Christchurch seeking an electrician who combines expertise, is responsive, timely and has foresight! I recommend SSP Electrical.
