Whatever you do DON'T pay the requested 50% deposit! You won't get it all back if things change (in this case through no fault of my own). Builders crack recommend not paying more than 10-20% deposit - I should have stuck with their advice. I ended up getting half of my deposit back - but only after several days of message exchanges and a long winded justification from the vendor justifying charging me more than $300 for a job that I cancelled nearly a week out.

I called Andy at about 11am on a saturday morning after being unable to open my garage door, Andy arrived at my house almost with in the hour to take a look. Discovering that it was an issue with the motor Andy suggested replacing the unit. The unit was replaced the same day and my garage door now opens smoothly again.
