I phoned @ 4.35 pm & then again to cancel @ 4.50 pm as I had found the problem, the technician was on his way, so good prompt service. I was then invoiced the full After Hours fee of $205 Gst incl which had been correctly disclosed at the time ....no problem. In saying that sometimes a little goodwill can go a long way, of course the fee must be charged but maybe consider a small discount dependent on the situation. In this case the A/H fee covers the 1st hour, the technician only drove 10 mins, and another 10 mins after turning around & would have been back in office by 5 pm (not A/Hrs?). GST charged was our standard service fee, not an additional After Hours fee. This covers the first hour of labour, including travel within the Napier/Hastings area, and was clearly disclosed at the time of booking. When you called to cancel, our technician had already been dispatched. As explained, once a job is mobilised, the fee remains applicable. When we send out a technician, we are allocating a skilled resource away from other chargeable work — this time can’t be recovered and unfortunately can’t be provided free of charge. Our pricing structure allows us to deliver reliable, high-quality service, while also ensuring we can pay our team fairly for the great work they do. Without this, we simply wouldn’t be able to maintain the standard of service our clients rely on.
