We recently engaged Ruahine Property Works to completely renovate our bathroom. From the outset we were impressed by their attention to detail and support of a loan portable bathroom, which, in the middle of winter, even, made it possible for us to live life as almost normally as their cheerful tradespeople carried out the work. We were impressed by their ability to complete the project and not once was our dog given the freedom to escape the house. They were very accommodating of our request not to let the dog escape. The tradespeople did great work, but the invoicing process needs improvement, (which they acknowledged). My mother was almost overcharged $1,200, which was later corrected after I requested an itemised invoice. I’d advise others to carefully check invoices before making payment. Response to business owner. A $1200 error is a significant mistake. The only reason it was picked up is because I queried it — my mother would have unknowingly paid it otherwise, which is very concerning. While I appreciate that you corrected the issue once raised, your response comes across more as explanation than accountability. What’s most important now is reassurance that better systems and checks are in place to ensure this doesn’t happen again. Reply: As explained , the error occurred as we were undertaking two seperate jobs on your property. One charged to your self and the other to your insurance company. Unfortunately our team made an error and applied some of the costs for the insurance job to your own one. This was rectified as soon as it was discovered. It’s not often we have two seperate clients on the same address which is how this happened.
