Nestled in the heart of the bustling Carterton township this modern home has all of the features you would expect, and then some. The client has a passion for craft beer and so incorporated into the design is the brewery department!
Four Corners
This beautiful home was cleverly designed to provide accessibility for the life of the home and its occupants, and one that can compartmentalise when it needs to. Everything required for day-to-day living is on the ground floor including kitchen, dining, living, master bedroom and ensuite, and office. Upstairs, three bedrooms await guests in three wings, with a bathroom in the fourth, all accessible by a central staircase or lift. The architectural style is a nod back to the traditional country villa with deep verandas that wrap the lower level. These covered spaces create excellent indoor-outdoor flow, alfresco dining and protection from the sun. But make no mistake, that is where the comparison to country villas end, this is a very high performing home with no draughts. As well as being airtight, the European triple glazed joinery, 140mm timber frame, and Zehnder ventilation unit, also ensures the interior temperature is even all year round with little need for heating. In fact, the predicted heat energy savings is 93% when compared to a new code-built home. The owners have chosen to produce their own clean energy on site which means energy bills are tiny or even non-existent.
