damp in garage

we have a damp spot in a garage/ games room that does not appear to be leaking but that carpet is damp. The room is below the ground. Would like someone to help me investigate and remediate before we gyb board the concrete walls.

Job was completed on time and it looks good but communication wasn't great. I had to chase to find out when the guys were turning up. It was also quite messy and whilst Clive had told me there would be some he didn't explain how much and he missed that the messy white water was leaking into our cupboard and getting all over golf clubs and suit cases. So a bit more care would have been appreciated, or proactively advising what would happen so we could clear the cupboard and avoid the issue.

"yep - the cupboard was in the low spot and did not notice till too late.
However,we did grind off the wall coating and floor topping so some mess was to be expected and we fixed the leaks.
