Non slip tile issues

Our house builder laid ordinary tiles in the bathrooms and toilets (4) despite our requesting non slip tiles. He eventually put some non-slip liquid on the tiles but they look terrible and we can't clean. Also builder has gone to ground! Looking for ways to make tiles non slippery and also clean the tiles so they look as they should. Many thanks
