A developer has bought a neighboring property, on which they are planning to erect 12 town houses (in 3 blocks of 4). Resource consent will mean they need works to handle the stormwater, which apparently means directional drilling a pipe across the width of our property to connect with a manhole in our driveway (indicated by the yellow line on the attached image). We are currently awaiting the technical plans, once his civil engineer has the survey results, so we want to line up a geotechnical engineer who can be ready to look at this and advise us of any risk mitigation or other impacts we should be aware of before we agree to this being done.

Really valued the contribution from Shahram. As non-specialists in this area, we would not have known where to start. He helped us focus on areas to be concerned about with the developer, which meant we could conclude those discussions much faster. Great advice. Thanks.
