My builder has left some adhesive film on the beautiful new uPVC joinery for too long :( and the glue has baked on in the sun. Now there is adhesive stuck on teh frames and takes some work to remove it. I called Pete Wolfkamp on Sunday (Newstalk ZB) and he's suggested getting a signwriter who is good with detail work to remove it. From the manufacturer/supplier: The frames need to be cleaned with methylated spirits so the adhesive comes off. It will take some attention to detail. Then they need to be wiped down with water. Some creamy Jif cleaner can also be used if later wiped down with water if some areas are too hard to clean with just methylated spirits. Also, there is a different adhesive on some of the glass panes. There are 20 or so windows. I can provide photos by email. Mobile scaff or ladder necessary. This is urgent according to the supplier so the ongoing damage of the adhesive is minimised. Please contact me for photos and to view the job.
