Spouting replacement (A-frame house)

I water-blasted some holes in our rusty spouting, and realised it was time to have it replaced. We have an A-frame house (late 70s design) with 2x10m of metal spouting at the house sides (one side ground level, one side chest height), and about 4m around the back porch, all needing replacement. Part of the cause of the rusting on the porch is the flat design of the porch, and advice would be appreciated regarding what could be done about that in the future.
