Seal leaking acrylic/plastic deck roof joins

We have a deck roof which is covered with large sheets of rigid clear plastic. The sheets are butted together with a cap over the joint, and what looks to be silicone sealant between. The gaps have widened or silicone shrunk causing rain to leak through between the sheets, keen to get this addressed with some sort of better seal or flashing etc. roof is around 2m wide and supported on light rafters as per pics. There are two seams that need sealing.
