Gutter repair - small job

Need to join two sections of guttering. The gutter isn't long enough to meet the original hinge so think an expansion joiner needs to be fitted. It probably needs the gutter section removed, cut in length and expansion joiner used. The gutter is 3.1 metres from the concrete and my ladder isn't fit for purpose as there's stairs in the way and couldn't get close enough. I've already got an expansion joiner and unopened Marley MCS welding cement and unopened Selly's Roof and Gutter Silicone Sealant.
