We have some original Lockwood cottages - roof area about 13x7m. The iron is nailed directly onto the ceiling timbers - no purlins!! The time has come to replace the iron and we would like to insulate at the same time. We plan to use dense foam insulation. The roofer will need to be understand and fit the insulation as well as the colorsteel and to widen bargeboards, move spouting up etc. Also at these dwellings are almost 60 years old some ceiling timbers may need to be replaced although we have not seen any problems with them .
