Leak in the valley of a tin roof

Job description

Metal Roof Leaks & Repair
Phillipstown, Christchurch

Published on 8 October 2024

We need someone to get up on our villa roof and put a butynol patch in the valley where it is letting water in. We need a budget, no-fuss, quick fix on the roof as the property is being sold 'as is' and will likely be bowled by a developer. It doesn't even need to be a durable fix. I have gone into the roof cavity and the leak is not visible from the inside. It is therefore likely to be coming through the valley and directly onto the lower ceiling (house has a lowered ceiling). This winter a leak has sprung in one spot in the hallway ceiling under the roof valley. We don't have anyone who can get up on the roof exterior to patch it - we've tried, but it is steep! Photo is from the back of the house near the leak in the roof valley. It is possible to get onto the roof via the roof of the extension on the left of the photo or by the valley itself. There is clear ground to put a ladder.

Alex was excellent at communicating throughout the discovery and repair phases. The job was done professionally and within a good time frame. He was true to his schedule and his quote. We are very pleased - it is currently raining and it is a great relief to have a leak-free roof :-)
