Interior Ceiling Sanding

We've got a lounge and dining room area where the ceiling currently looks as per photo. It is GIBB just plastered rough onto the ceiling. The ceiling needs to be sanded down to a smooth finish where we can proceed to paint. We currently cant get time to do it due to work hours and daylight saving time and moving date is before 21st April. If someone can help please.
