Skim coat small hallway

Hi. I am in need of some expert help to finish painting my little house. The hallway wallpaper has been stripped and I have lightly sanded it. I am not sure what type the wallboard is - the house was built in 1966. If it is helpful, I am happy to prime the wall once I know what primer to use. Then I have been advised that it needs to be skim coated. Length of the hallway is around 5.5m

On the job within a few days. Great tradie and a pleasure to have him in my home. Rob was an excellent communicator and kept me up to speed with options/processes etc. Will definitely use again in the future.
